About
Change is inevitable.
Finding community to support us through it is what makes it worth doing.

As a doula my approach is centered on the quiet power of change. There is strength in our most challenging times, and we can harness that energy to constantly create better versions of ourselves.

We so often prepare ourselves for the physical parts of recovery: meals, household chores, rest. Often we are not prepared for the mental and emotional aspects of recovery and adjustment to change. Incorporating this into postpartum and post surgery care is core to the work I do.
Often people have an existing support network who are eager to help in the recovery process but do not know how to be the most helpful. When you are at your most stressed, it can be difficult to direct your team. Being able to guide your support network in caring for you is something that brings me so much joy.
I also work at Natural Resources where I help new parents find educational resources, connection, and community. My experience as a central node of the birthworker community has shown me how important it is to be surrounded by love and support during periods of change.

In my work as a postpartum doula, I prioritize the well-being of the entire family, not just the birthing parent and baby. I understand that the non-birthing parent, siblings, and the whole household are integral to this journey. It is crucial to create an environment where everyone feels seen, supported, and connected.

In my work as a surgery doula, I draw on my personal experiences to help prepare and support people and their support networks for the transformative journey of surgery.

Beyond my professional work, I am actively involved in my community and believe in creating spaces for connection and support. For me this looks like cooking weekly with a group to provide free food in my community and networking between mutual aid organizations.
